Sister Time in Twin

Well, July came and went. Sometimes too fast and others too slow. I got to go to Twin for a few weeks to spend some time with Becky while she was in town. I was really excited for this trip, but it didn't quite pan out like I had hoped. Mom had to work all week, but tried her best to be home and go out with us as much as she could. I was mostly excited for Zander because he had cousins he could play with all week since we had been cooped up in our house from having the new baby and getting sick again. I think the kids ultimately enjoyed each other, but there was a lot of crying and whining and biting, and pinching, and scratching...sigh....I kinda checked out while I was in Twin; I had had enough with Zander's biting and other bad habits he's developed. I was out of ideas of how to handle it, and having a new baby to take care of was enough for me. Becky and Mom pretty much took care of Zander the whole time. I am SO grateful for that! I needed a break. I did feel guilty a lot of the time because Becky didn't have to take care of him because she had her own kids, but she helped regardless feeding him and changing diapers and getting him ready for bed. Thank you Mom and Becky, that service was way worth the trip for me!

After getting home, Becky and I realized that the kids had learned a few things from each other. That night we got back to Utah we were eating dinner and I asked Zander if he wanted more lasagna. He looked at me and gave me the sign for "more". I was amazed that he had learned that all on his own from watching Cora. He also learned "nanny, nanny, nanny!" and "What?!" from Kimball. In return, Kimball learned to say "ewe, ewe, ewe!" at everything like Zander does.

Dad took us up to Grandpa's for a four wheeling ride. Zander had fun riding in the razor with me--he held on for dear life until I told him he could let go. He also fell asleep halfway through the ride. It was a gorgeous trail with lots of beautiful scenery.

Zander, Kimball, and Cora did a lot of jumping on the trampoline with the sprinklers running. They also loved to play with Lucas, and inside Grandma's closet. (somehow I missed Cora in all of these pictures)

We went to Buhl to see the sturgeon and get ice cream at the Cloverleaf Creamery. It was pretty good ice cream, but we got dumped on with rain within seconds before we could finish eating.

"Ewe, ewe, ewe!" (Zander flicked wet moss on his arm and was grossed out by it)

We had a picnic at the cemetery, fed the ducks and geese, played on the playground, and of course, Zander had to find the only mud puddle and jump right in.
