Update

where do I start? I may be naive, but I thought I'd be better at this mom-of-two thing. I like that the boys are close in age, but it's a lot tougher than I imagined it to be. There are some things that Zander is just too young to understand, and it's hard to teach him. For example: he doesn't understand how to be quiet when Lucas is sleeping. I can put my finger to my lips and say "shhhhh" and he'll repeat it, but just not follow it. I tell him to whisper and he'll whisper a few words then scream and laugh, so Lucas has a hard time taking morning naps. I'm hoping he'll get used to Zander running around the house yelling and playing. One thing's for sure though, Zander loves his brother.

I haven't slept in the past two months. I guess I'm getting used to it, but I wish I didn't have to. I'm finally getting a routine down with both boys. Zander loves to help out with Lucas any time he sees me with his brother he runs and grabs a pacifier or a blanket or a toy. He rubs Lucas's head all the time and gives him kisses. He can't say Lucas very well it sounds like "cookie".

Stephen is such a great dad and looks forward to coming home every day to hear Zander say, "Hi daddy!" He loves being a dad of two little boys. I really lucked out with him--he cooks dinner and gets Zander ready for bed every night and rocks him and reads to him. It's really cute to see Stephen in the rocking chair with both boys on his lap.

Stephen is busy with work. He has been doing some traveling this fall for a case he's been working on, so I get to stay home with the boys. It usually isn't that bad, but some days are better than others.

Zander has finally let up on his biting....for the most part. He'll bite and scratch here and there when he gets really angry, but he's been doing much better. He has more energy than the energizer bunny, and that's no exaggeration. He is busy from sun up to sun down, and sometimes even after. He is a really fast learner, and says more words every day.

He has to make everything into a game from getting dressed in the morning to getting him to eat his dinner sometimes. He loves guns, cars, and watching Curious George.

He LOVES his baby brother. Any time I have Lucas in my arms Zander runs to get him a blanket, a pacifier, or a toy. He helps me pat Lucas's back to burp him, and gives him lots of hugs and kisses.

On the other hand, Zander sometimes has a hard time sharing mommy with Lucas now that he doesn't just sleep all day, but he is learning to share and is usually willing to share mommy's lap.

Zander has two little frogs that have become his "babies" that he takes care of throughout the day. He'll take a burp cloth and use it as a blanket and wrap them up to put them to sleep. He takes a pacifier for them, sings, and rocks them to sleep. He even buckles them up in Lucas's car seat and tries to drag them to the door. It's the cutest thing to see him take care of his babies.

He loves to be outside running around. He is a climber and a little water baby.

Zander says "please, thank you, excuse me, and sorry" all the time like a gentleman, and is learning to say his own prayers.

Lucas is two months old, and a little chub. He still doesn't like to sleep at night, so he gets extra cuddles from mom to put him back to sleep. He is a pretty easy-going baby who likes to watch everything going on around him--he's very alert.

He won't take a pacifier anymore, and loves to be swaddled and held. He is very much a hands-on baby who loves to be touched.

Right now he really likes mom to hold him, but will sometimes let dad.

He has the cutest smile and is learning to laugh.
