Now that's it's starting to cool off a bit, I'm trying to get caught up on my weeding and cleaning out the flowerbeds and yard. The boys have really enjoyed being outside, and they have been such good helpers. Here are a few fun things we found while weeding this week. Zander loves to look at the bugs, but not touch them. Sometimes I can convince him it's ok to hold one.
So we found this really cool looking spider. I've never seen one before. I'm guessing it's some sort of Orb Web spider, but I don't know. Its back was an iridescent silvery white color and the bottom of it was camouflage yellow, green, and brown. It was interesting because it kept sticking its bum straight up in the air moving around when we moved like it was trying to stay camouflage. Anyway, pretty interesting.
Then we found a big grasshopper. Zander loved to watch it hop around and got upset because he couldn't catch it (even though he was too scared to touch it).
Zander found a tiny green caterpillar. He played with this for a long time before letting it go.
These two worked and played together so well today. Makes my mama heart happy!
