Summer Shenanigans Part 1

This is a really busy summer this year with reunions and camp outs back to back to back. It all started with the Watson reunion in Boise. All of that was fun except for the sleeping on the floor in the living room with a screaming Lucas all night long part. That was NOT fun. Our family walked away with four awards this year. Stephen got the highest score in bowling at 185, Lucas and Kimball both won awards for best boxcars (which I made), and I won most creative whizzy! And to complete the reunion, Zander walked away with a black eye when he got kneed in the face jumping on the trampoline.

After the reunion Becky and I stayed with mom and dad for a couple weeks. We had the kids play in the pool and sprinkler outside. I tried to let Hannah play by the pool and take a picture, but she ended up going head first into the pool...oops. The boys had a lot fun playing with each other. I finally let Hannah get in the pool for a little bit, and boy did she love that!

We had lunch in the park one day with whoever could come join us. Joseph, Heather, and KoLei came with their kids, so they all enjoyed playing together. This was the day I got sick for the rest of the week. Thankfully it wasn't during our camping trip.

The next week we had our family/birthday camping trip for Halle. We went to Land of the Yankee Fork up near Challis. Despite what everyone thought, we did have fun, but you can only have so much fun when you're constantly having to watch all three of your kids at once making sure they're not falling off rocks, falling in the toilet, or eating dirt. Sleeping in the tent with our two youngest was a nightmare, so Stephen and I decided we weren't going to do that again. We got to go see the dredge where they dug up gold out of the river. We also visited the ghost town of Custer, Idaho and the kids got to pan for gold of their own. I think Zander had the time of his life playing with his cousins, swimming, fishing, climbing, and roasting marshmallows. Lucas decided to get sick and throw up one night so Becky graciously volunteered to take me and the younger two back home a day early. Which I was really sad about. I was really looking forward to going into Sun valley for the fourth of July festivities. But Lucas was throwing up all day and took four naps, so we did the right thing. I'm glad Zander could stay up there and enjoy that with everyone else.

Lucas recovered the next day, so we stayed in Twin for the weekend so I could do some shopping. The kids got outside again to play with water balloons, and buckets.
