Let’s start off with Grayson getting his helmet off on the last day of 2020!
We celebrated the new year with food this year instead of staying up late. We had “cake fondue” that actually ended up being a huge success! I only had angel food cake mix in the pantry and several left over bowls of frosting from Christmas cookies. So I baked the cake, thinned out the frosting, and added flavoring to all the different colors--we had coconut, blueberry, cherry, strawberry, apple, orange, and of course chocolate. We got out crushed cookies, pretzels, and sprinkles to put on top. I cut up the cake into bite sized cubes, and gave everyone a fork and we all went to town. We ended up eating 3/4 of the cake that night, haha! We topped it off by gathering In the “work room” on the bed and watched videos and looked at pictures from the year. The kids all enjoyed that. The next night on January 1st we took the kids downtown to see the lights at Lumaze. It was the first time they had come to Salt Lake City, and their photos and activities looked amazing online, but it was kind of a let down when we got there. There weren’t as many lights and things to se as we thought, but the kids loved it. They did a scavenger hunt and got a tree ornament as their prize when we left. They had train rides and a fun activity house that the kids played in for a while. There were slides, hop scotch bubbles, racing unicorn hoppers that Hannah refused to get on because she “wanted a real unicorn to ride on”.
