Bryce Canyon Spring Break Trip

This year we decided to take the kids to Bryce Canyon to see all the cool rock formations and be outside where they could run around. We invited Scott and Sydney to go with us since we were going to be so close to them. We rented a house for five days in Panguitch which is a tiny town just outside of Bryce Canyon.

We played games every night, laughed, watched movies, stayed up late, snacked, and got to see some incredible views of the surrounding canyons and landscapes. We went to Bryce Canyon first and walked the trail around the amphitheater then drove to some other cool view points like the natural arch and rainbow monument. Then we went to Mossy Cave and did some exploring there.

The next day was the Escalante Park where we had lunch under the Shakespeare arch (That collapsed in 2019) and then went to the Gosvenor double arch to do some more exploring and rock climbing. That was a fun day for the kids we also stopped in an even more tiny town to get directions on what to see in Escalante and we played with the kids at a playground. It was a lot of fun because they had a merry-go-round.

Monday was Panguitch Lake which was frozen solid and muddy! The wind was blowing a lot that day so that part wasn't that much fun. Then we just took the kids to another playground because that's what they wanted to do.

Our house had a little junkyard beside it, so the kids had lots of fun playing out there finding all sorts of neat treasures and playing games. We had a good time, but we were ready to be home when it was over. This is a place we'll have to come back to when the kids are a little older. They didn't fully appreciate all the cool views we say and found it a little boring at times. They just wanted to run around and climb stuff. Even at the amphitheater they were all trying to climb on the fences. I about had a heart attack with one of them. We all got sunburned that first day. It was so cold I didn't even think to put sunscreen on anyone. Poor Grayson got it the worst. The next morning he woke up and had huge blisters on his cheek. My kids burn soooo easily! I should be more cautious with them when going out.

All ready to go!
Views from the amphitheater

Lunch in back of Scott's truck. It was cold.

We hiked down the trail a little bit to get different view point through this mini peep hole.

She was mad because I kept telling her she couldn't climb on the fences.

Yep, no one likes to listen to mom and dad when they tell you not to climb on the barriers, so she did it when we were all distracted with the picture.
Lucas was mad at me, so to get back at me he ducked down behind Lucy's stroller so he wouldn't be in the picture.

The Natural Bridge

Hannah found some "leaf balloons" to have a party with. These plants had leaves that stood straight up and were perfect balloon shapes that, naturally, she had to have a party with them.
Mossy Cave

This rock had a hole in it shaped like a star on the right
It is quite impossible for all the kids to look at the camera at the same time...or at all

Playing out in the junkyard

We brought my telescope to look at the moon. It was the perfect night, and so cool!

Scott showed/made some homosapiene foot prints for the boys to find. Zander wanted to know what kind of animal a homosapien was "Is it like a wolf, or a bear?" He even made an "arrowhead" out of rock and had Zander find it. Boy was he excited! Haha!

Bath time in the kitchen sink

We played five crowns and I won with only 33 points! That's got to be a record. I had Scott look at it because he was the big loser with 155 points, haha.
Panguitch Lake

Our last night we stayed up really late to keep playing Spades. Zander refused to go to bed because he didn't want to miss out on all the fun, so he fell asleep on daddy's lap.
