Sickies

I wish I have more interesting things to report every week, but staying home with Zander makes me feel boring. I love getting to play with him all day, but other than that I just try to get the house clean here and there. I have a lot of projects I'd like to work on, but most of them are sewing and I need mom's help.

I've been planning out my activity days for the next few months so I have everything prepared in advance, so that's been taking up some of my time. We had activity days on Tuesday and the theme was "what makes you beautiful" . We talked about the differences on how we view beauty versus how the world sees it. We discussed the 13th article of faith and I made tiaras for the girls and took pictures with them to put up in our primary room. Then for our short activity I had the girls bring a photo of themselves; I put them on decorative paper and had each girl pass them around and write what they thought made that person beautiful. And of course we had to listen to the music video of One Direction's 'That's What Makes You Beautiful' so they could dance and sing along to it. We all had a pretty fun time. I even sang and danced with them!

Zander caught a cold last week. I guess it was only a matter of time because Stephen and I both caught one too. It was kinda hard to know exactly what to do for Zander to help him get through it. Thanks to some good advise from mom and Becky we bought a humidifier and some vapor rub for his feet. He was congested and phlegmy and I was worried about leaving him alone to sleep for fear of him choking or not being able to breathe. He slept through the night the whole time he had his cold though. Today he is as good as new! I'm starting to think he's not going to be a cuddler.  He didn't really like it while he was sick; he wanted to be held but only if I was standing up and walking around, and I don't know about you other moms, but that starts to hurt my back pretty quickly.

Toby came inside one day last week with a bloody face. Looks like he got in a fight with the neighbor's bully cat. I hate that cat he's always coming around our house looking for a fight and he's twice the size of Toby. Toby's ear and cheek got a chunk taken out of him, so I had a sick baby and an injured cat to take care of last week, but they're both doing great now.
