Zander Turned 9!

 Happy Birthday to my nine year old! Zander, you make me so happy. I love to see your sweet smile. You have a gentle heart and love to do acts of service to surprise me and other members of our family. You are not afraid to try new things, and are always trying your best to be the best version of yourself. You are kind hearted and the best oldest brother anyone could ask for. We love you so much! 

We got to celebrate Zander's birthday for three days in a row! We let him open up gifts on Sunday before we went to Uncle Loren's so his siblings could see what he got before we dropped them off at Grandma's the next morning. He got elf ears and the one true ring from LOTR, and adventure kit, a rope, a skateboard, and colored light strips for his bedroom.

Monday night we made his favorite dinner which was spaghetti and meatballs, and since we couldn't do a cake he asked for banana splits instead. We delivered! the ice cream was really good; we made homemade caramel and hot fudge sauce.

Tuesday on his official birthday we spent the entire day traveling in and out of airports, and on a long car ride in the dark in Costa Rica. We didn't get to bed until 3:00 am that "night". 

I couldn't let him not have a cake on his birthday, so surprised him with one on the morning of his birthday before we left for the airport. Happy Birthday Zander!
