Everyday Moments

Every once in a while when there's "nothing to do" the three boys will get out our giant blanket, pile cushions and pillows at the bottom of the stairs (against mom's wishes) and roll and fall down the stairs together. This keeps them entertained for hours.

Lucas got an award in science last month for outstanding achievement. Way to go Lucas!

Grayson will sometimes come out of the house when he hears me coming home and start dancing and shouting "Mom's home, Mom's home! Yay!"
Ok, this one was a one in million (probably more than that) chance of me rolling all 6 dice of the same number in ONE roll!! Too bad we weren't playing Yahtzee.
Lucas signed up to play on the Junior Jazz team this year. He's done pretty good with it. It's not his passion, but I'm proud of him for trying something new and having fun with it.

Valentine's Day came last week and my kids love it. I have a tradition of posting one heart a day with something nice written on them and taping them to their doors for the two weeks leading up to Valentine's Day. Friday morning Hannah informed me that I was not allowed out of bed until she said so. When I was finally able to come out I found my bedroom door with heart notes on on it for me and Stephen. There were more hearts on the floor leading us to the table where Hannah and Lucas prepared pink heart shaped pancakes for us for breakfast. My kids are the best!

While Hannah and I went on our date the boys stayed home with Dad and played a Star Wars game for hours together. They were all getting along and enjoyed playing together. It was fun to watch them.

Zander and Lucas are in their base under the fan tent
Hannah and I got to have some mother daughter time at the mall's fairytale event on Monday. They had free face painting, crafts, and photo opportunities with some princesses. Hannah was really shy, but she loved it. I love getting to spend time with the kids.

Lucas and Zander had a cook off the other night. We had to vote on who's meal we liked the best. Zander made white chicken chili and Lucas made bacon meatballs. They both did most of the cooking and planning. I am proud of them for getting out of their comfort zones. Zander beat Lucas by one vote.
I cannot believe how much Grayson looks like Zander. As I was watching him play in the snow I couldn't help but think about how much I feel like I missed Zander's toddler years. Being the oldest and having younger siblings-- the older ones seem to have to grow up more quickly, or I just don't pay as much attention to how little they really are in the moment. It was fun to reminisce about Zander at that age as I watched Grayson play through the window. I love my kids so much.
