We had a fun weekend at Flaming Gorge for our Pettingill Reunion. We had a good turn out and Scott and Sydney did a great job organizing it and putting it together. Stephen and I got put in charge of food since we lived the closest. We cooked up as much of the food as we could before hand so it'd be easier for transport and reheating to eat. It took several days of me cooking in the kitchen and making a greasy mess, but it was worth it. It cut down on our cook and clean up time by more than half. The highlights were our rafting trip--that was too short for me, which surprised me because it was like 6-7 miles long, but I wasn't ready to get off the boat when it was time. We had a nice 3 mile hike in which we were rewarded with a gorgeous view of the gorge at the end. And the hot wheels races were really fun too. Courtney won that one. I'm pretty sure I came in dead last, lol. My car didn't even make it to the finish line.
Tim and Scott caught a boatload of crawdads the day we all got there, so they cooked up a crawdad boil for dinner while the rest of us had hamburgers and hotdogs. We spent time at the beach playing in the water--swimming, kayaking, fishing, and playing spike ball. lots of good memories made that weekend.
