We performed at the Peery Egyptian Theater in Ogden this year. Man, I love dancing with this group! I wasn't even as nervous as last year and I nailed the dance. I loved our costumes too.

General conference in Elba
We decided to make a short vacation out of conference weekend this year. I wasn't sure if the kids would be up for it, but surprisingly they were all excited to have the cabin all to themselves. I knew mom and dad were going to SLC for conference so I asked if they'd be willing to stop at the cabin on their way down to help Stephen and I take all the kids on a ride up New Canyon and Dad happily obliged. The weather was not cooperating however. It kept threatening to rain so our ride got cut real short. It was disappointing for the kids, but nothing we can do about it. They really enjoyed it though. We got off long enough to take some pictures for 10 minutes before it started spitting rain.
Back at the cabin mom and dad took off and we took the kids to the hot springs before dinner. It was quite perfect. We brought homemade chicken and rice soup for dinner and then settled in the watch a Halloween movie together.
Saturday the boys rode the four wheelers a bit and built on their forts in the pasture in between sessions. Stephen made homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The kids painted a picture frame type craft, played with legos, made bendable mummies, and played conference bingo while listening to conference. We went out for dinner and ice cream in Albion and saw a beautiful sunset. It was a nice little getaway for the weekend. Hopefully the kids will remember it.
Family Time
Zander and Lucas tried their hand at street hockey this year. It's been a great season and a lot of fun watching them learn the ins and outs, and playing together on the same team. Zander has a knack for being goalie, but they both play great and have fun. Hannah and Grayson like to come so they can see their friends and run around and play on the sides of the rink/court.
We went for a Sunday afternoon walk around the Farmington trail just behind Lagoon; it's really pretty. We walked up to the pond and back. There's a tunnel you have to go through to get to the other side of the road and someone painted the walls of the tunnel with these cute creatures.
Zander's First FanX!
It was Zander's first time going to FanX this year. I actually asked his older cousin Bekah to take him with her because I knew she'd be going. She was all over it! She was excited to take him and make sure he had a good time. We didn't decide to dress up until the very last minute--like the week of. So we had to think of a quick costume. Zander asked for a Deadpool mask, so I got one of those and went to the DI hoping for a miracle that I'd find some read pants in his size and a red shirt. I can't believe I found them! We have never seen the Deadpool movies for obvious reasons, but Zander is a huge Marvel fan. I got the clothes and a roll of black duct tape and went to work on his costume. It turned out great and Zander loved it, so that's all that mattered. He spent all day with Beks and Tirzah finding all sorts of cool things to look at and buy. He came home with props from movies. A sword, a gun, and a storm trooper helmet to display in his room. He had such a great time.
