Spokane Trip Part 2

Lake Day! We went to Chatcolet Lake in Heyburn State Park. The kids were ecstatic to get to play in the lake all day. Becky and Lance brought tubes and floaties and their kayak. The shore was really rocky so you had to wear shoes in the water. Kimball brought his fishing pole and went to work on the dock, pretty views, treats, and lots of sunshine made for a great day.

Saturday Becky gave each child a chore to earn some money to go to a multi house yard sale. Everything the kids got they got for free, haha, so they didn't spend their money. Zander got a snorkel and goggles, Lucas got a gold watch, and Hannah got a bracelet. Then we took the kids to Riverfront Park for lunch, feed the ducks, ride the carousel, feed the goat, and run around the splash pad and the playgrounds. It was hot! We got ice cream after that and went to Trader Joes to top off the day.

The drive home was less than pleasant after we stopped for lunch. We had to stop two more times after that. I was about the lose my mind. The kids were whining, and fighting, and hitting, etc... We stopped in Boise real fast to let the kids use the bathroom. I took Hannah in the bathroom and bent down to see if I could see/get anymore toilet paper because I noticed there wasn't any left in our stall. As I was trying to look and figure out what to do I lifted my head up only to hear Hannah laughing hysterically as water splattered my face. I had dipped my ponytail into the toilet between her legs as she was peeing! Nice. That was the icing on the cake. Mom and I couldn't wait to get home, get out of the car, and relax from being in the car all day. All in all, we had an awesome trip. It was probably the highlight of our summer! Thanks Becky for one of the best vacations!

Spokane Trip Part 1

Mom and I took the kids on a road trip to Spokane to visit Becky for a week, and boy, she did not disappoint! The drive on the way up wasn't bad at all. When we got there Becky had prepared pasta for dinner to feed a whole army (literally). We had leftovers all week (happily); it was that good. We had a fun time catching up and getting all the kids situated.

The one thing I wanted to do while we were there was surprise the boys with a trip to Silverwood Amusement Park. Sadly, they didn't want to drive with me so I couldn't see their reactions when we got there, but they were surprised and we loved every minute of it. We went to Boulder Beach first to cool off in the wave pool, the lazy river, and go down some some fun slides. We ate a late lunch, and then spent the rest of the time on the rides. The roller coasters were some of the best rides, and I even got Zander and Becky to go on the newest one with me! Lucas was just an inch shy of being able to go on some of the bigger rides, so we took him to the kiddie rides where the kids had some fun of their own. I did, however, get him to go on the wooden coaster with me, although he opted to sit with Lance because he was boy, and he told me afterward he's never going on a roller coaster ever again. We stayed until closing and didn't get home until almost 11:00. We were all wiped out. Hannah, Grayson, and Ezra got to hang out with the babysitters all day.

The next day we stayed home to rest. Becky has got a really cool backyard oasis. It's nice and shaded and there's lots to do back there, so the kids set the slip n slide up under the slide from the deck and sprayed shaving cream on it and had a grand ol' time in their skivvies.

Thursday was our girl's day out shopping! We only had half a day to shop and ended up spending most of our time in one store, but it was a good one. We had dinner and delivered an early birthday gift to Lance at the office, went home and vegged on the couch. That was a good day.

Father's Day

We got to have Father's Day in Twin Falls this year since we were here for the reunion. Stephen stayed Sunday morning so we could spend some time together before he had to go back home, and then to L.A. for a work trip.

Stephen, We love you forever! You truly are the world's best dad. You are adored and a hero to all four of our children. Thank you for being you.

Lynn Pettingill Reunion

We had a great weekend with most of the Pettingill clan. We missed the ones that weren't able to come, and look forward to seeing them next time. Wade's family did a great job putting it all together. We had dinner the first night and listened to some family history. Each of the siblings took turns telling stories of each other when they were younger. We really missed Grandpa Pettingill; he wasn't able to attend, and I wish I had gone over to visit him before we left for Spokane.

The next day we went to Dierke's Lake and ate, played games, fished, and swam in the lake. We have a pretty great family!

Love These Ladies!

This was such a beautiful day celebrating Jessica and her husband Gonzalo! They were sealed in the Oquirrh Mountain temple. Jessica was just beaming! All four of us were roommates in college and are still best friends. We don't get to see each other as often as we'd like, but we take what we can get.
